Application Requirements

Standard international Licence

  • Be fit to hold a licence, taking into account any relevant convictions and activities.
  • Have sufficient financial resources or to be of the appropriate financial standing :- £8,000 for the first heavy goods vehicle or £1,600 for the first light goods vehicle if no heavy goods vehicles operated.£4,500 for each additional heavy goods vehicle and £800 for each light goods vehicle.
  • Have satisfactory facilities and arrangements for maintaining vehicles in a fit and serviceable condition.
  • Suitable operating centre to store vehicles when not in use.
  • Systems in place to check drivers hold the correct licence, CPC qualifications and are allowed to work in the uk. 
  • System in place to make sure vehicles are not overloaded.
  • System in place to collect and analyse drivers hours for compliance.
  • Transport Manager to maintain compliance of all systems, procedures, vehicles and drivers.

Restricted Licence

  • Be fit to hold a licence, taking into account any relevant convictions and activities.
  • Have sufficient financial resources or to be of the appropriate financial standing :- £3,100 for the first heavy goods vehicle. £1,700 for each additional heavy goods vehicle.
  • Have satisfactory facilities and arrangements for maintaining vehicles in a fit and serviceable condition.
  • Suitable operating centre to store vehicles when not in use. If heavy goods vehicles are used.
  • Systems in place to check drivers hold the correct licence, CPC qualifications and are allowed to work in the uk. 
  • System in place to make sure vehicles are not overloaded.
  • System in place to collect and analyse drivers hours for compliance.
  • Having transport Manager is NOT a requirement but is very benfitial for any transport business.
